Description

This homemade cranberry sauce is a delightful blend of tart cranberries and sweet orange juice, enhanced with a touch of cinnamon. It’s the perfect accompaniment to your holiday meals, offering a fresh and vibrant flavor that surpasses any store-bought version.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the orange juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the cranberries and cinnamon to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a twist, consider adding a splash of orange liqueur or a pinch of nutmeg. This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
