Description

A quick and flavorful dish combining tender sirloin steak, perfectly cooked pasta, and a sweet-spicy garlic sauce, ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, sliced thin against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 oz penne or fettuccine
  • 1 tablespoon salt for pasta water
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 12 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice steak thin against the grain, season with salt and pepper, and let it sit at room temperature.
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak strips for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add honey, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and rice vinegar to the garlic. Whisk together and let it bubble for about 1 minute.
  6. Add butter and heavy cream to the sauce, whisking until smooth.
  7. Return the cooked steak to the pan, then add the drained pasta. Toss everything together for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Plate and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust the sweetness with extra honey or increase the heat with more red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
